Microsoft telah mengumumkan akan merilis versi beta browser Internet Explorer (IE) 8 di pertengahan tahun 2008. Namun khusus bagi para developer web, IE 8 versi Beta 1 kini sudah bisa di download melalui situs Microsoft. Versi IE8 dibedakan untuk Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 maupun Windows Server 2008.
